It is known as a gastropub and has won tourist-bar awards. Its official website was showing a holding page when checked, so current trading needs confirming.
What the records show

The holding page that was on its website has gone, and Limerick.ie listed full opening hours when we checked in September 2026. There is a licensing record as well, found on 18 September 2026: Revenue's register of liquor licences renewed for 2025/2026, standing as at 2 September 2026, carries a seven-day ordinary publican's licence at 3 George's Quay, Limerick, under reference LIP0433, held by Domanska Limited with Richard Costello as its nominee and trading as The Locke Bar and Restaurant. It says nothing about 1724 and everything about today: the class is the full public-house licence, so a drink is served here without a meal.
