The claim
A Darling Downs roadside tavern north of Toowoomba that claims Queensland's longest unbroken licence, dating from 1863. The site has had many roles, including house, store and a lock-up for local offenders. The present building dates from 1904, after fire took its predecessor. Its status after 2022 is unconfirmed, so check before visiting.
What the records show
The ABC (2022) reports its claim to be Queensland's longest continually licensed pub, licensed in 1863. An earlier building burned down and was replaced in 1904. The licence has not been checked against records. Its own site showed current opening hours when we checked in September 2026.
