The claim
By its own reckoning Seville's oldest bar, founded in 1670, El Rinconcillo is a tiled tapas tavern with a long wooden counter near the church of Santa Catalina. Hams hang overhead, sherry and cold beer are poured at the bar, and the waiters chalk each customer's bill straight onto the wood. It is as much a local ritual as a tourist sight.
What the records show
The 1670 foundation is the tavern's own claim, repeated in Wikipedia's list of oldest companies; no primary record was checked and current trading status could not be re-verified online.
